Twitter Lesson Learned: Beware the Auto-Response

April 13, 2011 § 1 Comment

First, this happened:

“LeBron James’s mother, Gloria, was arrested early Thursday after an alleged altercation at the Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach. … According to a source on the scene, Gloria and some girlfriends came to party at club LIV at the Fontainebleau.”

Supposedly, she’d punched a valet in the face. At 5AM. (The last time my mom was awake at 5AM, she was changing my diaper. And that was AT LEAST 10 years ago.)

And then, this happened:

I don’t think the person running social media for LIV is really paying too much attention to the context of their Twitter feed…

(And, for the record, I wasn’t really at LIV, just in the hotel lobby. And I only punched TWO valets.)
