Cleanliness Is Next to Craziness, Right Where I Left It

We have two vacuum cleaners: a Dyson and a Roomba. This is a little extreme, I know. But they both have different strengths — the Dyson is perfect for the furniture and the extra-thick living room carpet, and the Roomba is absolutely priceless in that you can set it up in a room, go cook dinner or take a bath or change the Namibian baby’s diaper, and when you come back everything is done perfectly.
That said, you would think our cleaning needs would be covered.
However, I just booked us for a monthly cleaning service. Because, sure, I clean — a lot — but there are things that I miss, some unintentionally (like baseboards) and some intentionally (like the underneath/outside the toilet where fuzz seems to multiply like Gremlins without being fed after midnight or put in water). It seems worth it to pay someone every month to do all those little things, and to give everything a good scrubbing, especially now that we’re owning and “investing” in this place.
So … tonight is probably not the right time to tell Scott that I really want one of these Dirt Devil Upright Broom Vacs …
